We are looking for Senior AU Accountants to provide support to clients by reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior AU Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating and/or managing a team of accountants and junior accountants.
Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
At least 3 years doing Australian Accounting
At least 1 year experience in Xero and MYOB; Quickbooks, and different Accounting Software is a plus
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred or a graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accountancy
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. Xero)
Possesses an attitude of service and support
Ability to coach, develop and mentor staff members
Ability to work independently, but also coordinate effectively as part of a team
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to in a fast-paced business
Mature disposition in appropriately managing sensitive situations
Strong analytical and organizational skills
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
Reconciling account balances and bank statements
Budget Forecasting
Providing accounting services to all areas of the client business as necessary
Maintaining General Ledger and preparing Month-end close procedures
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
Provide technical support and advice on Management accountant
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
Provide input into department’s goal setting process
Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
Assist with tax audits and tax returns
Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual business compliance and filing requirements
Plan, assign and review financial team’s work
Support month-end and year-end close process
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
Liaise with our Financial manager and Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures
Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
Secures financial information by completing database backups
Perform other accounting and operational tasks that may be assigned
